Step 6: Social Responsibility

The term social responsibility covers a broad range of issues and Altro is keen to achieve high levels of performance across the board. As a global business we employ over 600 people around the world and we strive to create a friendly supportive environment for all of our staff.  We also support a number of local and national causes in a variety of ways.        

We work closely with the local communities in which we operate and have forged strong relationships with schools and other education establishments.  Projects have included the hosting of an Energy Awareness Week where we worked with a local secondary school to raise awareness of environmental issues. We have also designed and implemented an Enterprise Day that teaches business skills to 14 – 15 year old pupils.

From an environmental point of view we are committed to operating as safely and conscientiously as we possibly can. We always aim to successfully balance the practical needs of our customers with our responsibility to the planet and the communities we work in. As our business grows, these concerns will remain high on our agenda.

One of the biggest contributions we make is the ongoing development of innovative products that help to create safer, cleaner, pleasant environments. Schools, hospitals and leisure facilities are just some of the locations that benefit from Altro’s commitment to innovation and quality.
