Altro wins another BRE accolade for sustainability
Interior surfaces specialist, Altro, has once again scooped a prestigious accolade for its commitment to sustainability. The inventor of safety flooring has been given the highest possible A rating for its AltroSmooth Chrysalis safety flooring under the Building Research Establishment (BRE) environmental profiling scheme using ecopoints.
The Building Research Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is the world's most widely used means of reviewing and improving the environmental performance of buildings. It is regarded by the UK's construction industry as the measure of best practice in environmental design and management.
The news follows just months after AltroSuprema was awarded with the highly sought after award.
AltroSmooth Chrsalis is an extremely hard-wearing, smooth flooring with subtle and abstract patterns. It is particularly suitable for heavy-use and mixed conditions such as corridors and entrance areas. AltroSmooth Chrysalis has a PUR finish for added protection. A new colour palette was recently launched for the range and includes blue shades like Fountain and Azure to the more earthy Sienna and Sand.
Marketing manager Joe Austin, said, "AltroSmooth Chrysalis is the second Altro safety flooring to have achieved an A rating under BRE's environmental profiling scheme. This means that architects, specifiers and contractors can be assured of achieving sustainability targets. Of course, as well as meeting environmental standards, Altro Smooth Chrysalis offers a highly attractive, hard-wearing floor covering that's durable and easy to clean, so there's really no need to compromise when you choose Altro."
